Helping Young People Pursue their Musical Endeavors
The Swan & Sparrow Scholarship is a program that aims to fund the education of a young musical talent that wants to attend a historically black college or university. Our goal is to give the youth a chance to succeed by taking the financial worry away from applying to a college they love. By soliciting donations and building up a fund, we will be able to make a young musician’s dream come true.
The inspiration behind Swan & Sparrow
Leslie Richardson was a classically-trained songstress who performed before audiences all over the world. She made people smile, laugh, and sometimes cry at the beauty of her voice. Leslie, who studied music at Howard University, died in the summer of 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. We are continually asking for donations to honor her legacy so that other people can have the same opportunity to attend a great school and hone their musical skills like Leslie.

The DIVA Organization
Leslie Richardson was also a member of the Divine Intelligent Versatile Artists (D.I.V.A.) organization. It includes over 100 different female artists from across the United States that work hard to help other women of color to succeed in the Arts. Her commitment to this organization and its mission was a major part of her life, and we are proud to promote it as well.
